Why We Built This
We grew frustrated with the state of sleep advice online. Too often, finding out when you should go to bed requires downloading an app, creating an account, handing over your email address, and agreeing to vague data-harvesting policies. The sleep tech industry has increasingly moved towards a model where your personal health data is the product, and basic educational tools are locked behind subscriptions.
We wanted to take a different approach. Sleep is fundamental to human health, cognitive performance, and emotional wellbeing. The science of how we sleep—specifically the 90-minute sleep cycle and the impact of waking during different stages—is well-established and shouldn't be treated as proprietary knowledge.
Our reaction was to build something better: a suite of free, evidence-based calculators that run entirely in your browser. They give you a useful answer instantly, and they never touch your personal data. We built MySleepCycles.com because we believe that everyone deserves access to practical, science-backed tools to understand their rest, without having to navigate paywalls, sign-up forms, or privacy-invading tracking.
